Cropping
Before you start the scanning, you have the option to select only a subset of the image to be scanned. It is entirely optional but presents the possible advantage of eliminating possible spurious characters the scanning might mistake for letters within the image background, and it reduces scanning time. Cropping also improves text recognitions on some cards. Another reason to crop is to beautify the image to show only the card and not the irrelevant background, for aesthetic consideration. Note: cropping the image can also be done after scanning, even if no cropping was applied before scanning.
Cropping before scanning is not possible if the "Auto-Start Scan" option is set to ON.
