Scanning
Scanning Your Business Cards With ScanBizCards:

It all starts with a photo of a business card, this is the input for everything else the application (iPhone business card scanner and Android business card scanner) does. Taking good images is very important for getting good results and it’s all up to you! Please read our photo taking tips for guidance. Note: the iPhone 3G model is not suitable for taking pictures of business cards unless equipped with the Griffin Clarifi close-up lens.

When taking photos from within the application, please follow the on-screen guidance for positioning the card within the viewport. Unlike other apps, it is not strictly necessary because we automatically detect text orientation - however orientation detection is not full-proof, in these infrequent cases we'll just assume the photo was taken according to the guidance (like other apps). The on-screen guidance is also a reminder to have the card fill as much of the image as possible, by being oriented the same way as the iPhone or Android and getting as close to the image as possible while maintaining sharp focus, to get larger text. Note: when taking a photo of a vertical card or street sign DO ignore the on-screen guidance as doing so will allow you to have the text fill the viewport better!
